It’s January, it’s a new year and why not start organizing our homes.
I decided it was time to pay attention to my pantry. I have avoided this project for a long time and it was so overdue.
This is what I did:
- I started by removing everything from my pantry and wiped down the shelves creating a clean empty space.
- I got rid of expired items and things I did not use anymore that were taking up unnecessary space. My goal was to have a functioning pantry with items my family use.
- I placed a white liner on top of each shelf to give it a more bright, spacious and clean look.
- I removed all packaging from items in my pantry and added them into containers.
- I grouped all my items into sections and started organizing the containers in the pantry one shelf at a time.
- I made sure to place my containers on each shelf based on what is convenient to reach for my family (ex. breakfast items in the middle shelf for easy, quick grab and top shelf for items we don’t use often).
- Once I had everything in place I did a happy dance!! π You can label your containers and write expiration dates, I did not but maybe I will in the future. Right now I’m happy with the way they look.
